A FINAL WORD FROM PASTOR STEVE
As we wrap up this course, I want you to take a moment and look at how far you’ve come. These last two chapters haven’t been light material — they’ve taken us into some deep places of the heart. We started by looking straight into the reality that dark seasons come to every believer. No one is exempt. And in those moments when life feels heavy, confusing, or downright overwhelming, it can feel like God has stepped away. But the truth we learned together is this: He hasn’t moved. He hasn’t changed. And He hasn’t forgotten you.
Chapter 1 was all about who God is in your darkness. We learned that it really is okay to not be okay. We saw that God works behind the scenes long before we ever see the light. We uncovered the treasures He hides in our painful seasons — the kind of treasures you don’t get on the mountaintop. And we were reminded that every hurt, every tear, every long night has a purpose. God does not waste your pain. He uses it to shape you, strengthen you, and prepare you for what’s next.
Then in Chapter 2, we got practical. We talked about real steps you can take when your heart feels heavy and your mind is tired. We walked through honest self-assessment. We talked about counseling and why getting help is not a sign of weak faith — it’s wisdom. We looked at resources, support options, and how to build your own “Spiritual First Aid Kit” so that when the next storm comes (and it will), you’re not caught off guard. You’re prepared. You’re grounded. You’re anchored.
If there’s one thing I want you to take from all of this, it’s this simple truth: you are not alone in whatever you’re facing. Not for one second. God sees you. He knows what you carry. And He is closer to the brokenhearted than you realize. You might not feel Him. You might not understand what He’s doing. But He is right there, working in ways you can’t see yet.
You also have a church family who loves you. You have people who will pray with you, walk with you, and help you through the hard days. Don’t fight your battles alone. Reach out. Ask for help. Lean on the support God has put around you.
Thank you for taking the time to walk through this course. My prayer is that something in these lessons strengthened you, encouraged you, or helped you see your situation through God’s eyes instead of your own fears. And I pray that when the next season of darkness comes — and for all of us, it will — you will remember what you’ve learned here: God is sovereign, God is present, and God is not finished with your story.
Keep going.
Keep trusting.
And don’t quit — because God hasn’t quit on you.
